This was my second stay at the Hotel Elisabeth. While it is an older hotel, I liked the location. The staff were as pleasant and helpful as they were when I was there before Covid (2019). I had booked a larger room since there were two of us. The room was quite large; great closet area and large bathroom. The towel warmer did not work. The room did have refrigerator and desk area. While I was quite pleased with the room, my friend was not happy about the extra bed placed in room (the hotel did not charge for this extra bed as some hotels do). We did not eat breakfast at hotel; we had hone to a local Spar supermarket and purchased items for breakfast, fruit, pastries, water, etc and ate in the room.

I had such a lovely time at this hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, the double bed room was big and so was the bathroom. And it was quiet! My room was at the back of the hotel. I could open the window to hear the bells of St Stephens but once it was closed I couldn’t hear anything so I slept very well. The location is superb. A one minute walk to the U-bahn, a 2 minute walk to St Stephen’s. Lots of lovely restaurants in laneways if you turn left coming out of the hotel. I had the hotel breakfast twice and was pleased with the variety, including Kaiserschmarrn! Such a treat. I’ll definitely be back when I’m next in Vienna.

Our stay was perfect. The hotel is so beautiful, a flavor of old world Vienna. Location could not be better, a block from St Stephens and on the pedestrianized section of central Vienna. Many sites were walkable within a few minutes, others easily accessible by public transport. The front desk staff was always kind,helpful and we felt truly welcomed. Always smiling faces despite our many questions re transport and dining. Our first day the Ring Road was closed due to labor day holiday and demonstration. The gentleman at the front desk made directions for public transport to Shonbrunn very easy. Restaurant recommendations were perfect for what we were looking for. Our room was a deluxe double and a fantastic choice. It was very large and comfortable. Bedroom and sitting area as well as very large bathroom . Double sink was appreciated. Immaculately clean, as well as the rest of the hotel. Old world decor, which I like. If you want modern, this is not the place for you. We did not have breakfast due to early departures in teh mornings, so cant comment that. We loved our stay in Vienna, enhanced by the Hotel Kaiserin Elizabeth. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I had pre-booked a different hotel from this one, based on multiple positive reviews, and upon arrival we found it to be surprisingly poor. Rather than allow our 4-day trip to Vienna to be tainted by an uncomfortable place to stay, we did a quick search and found the Kaiserin Elisabeth, happily just a 10-minute walk from the initial place. The understanding and helpful woman at the front desk allowed us to look at two of their available rooms, and we selected the one that most suited us. And after the poor choice of the first hotel, and us now questioning our judgment, we were wonderfully surprised by everything at the Kaiserin Elisabeth! The room was clean and spacious, as was the well-equipped bathroom. While the hotel had many guests, and it is located in a very busy and popular part of the city, we did not hear any noise from our room over all four days we were there (except for the church bells marking the time). Everything about the room, and the hotel overall, had the air of comfort, security, and class! The morning breakfast buffet had many great options, all of which were tasty. And the serving staff were consistently available. The location of this hotel is not to be beat! It is right near St. Stephen's cathedral (the source of the bells), right off of a large, several street walking mall, and within walking distance of most of the main attractions in the center of Vienna. We greatly appreciate having had the chance to be "rescued" from our initial hotel, and we will not hesitate to return to the Kaiserin Elisabeth the next time we visit Vienna!
